LEAVE TECHNOLOGY BEHIND AND JOIN US
The unrelenting notifications of our devices distract us from real, focused work and relationships.
Dividing our attention to our work with our emails, texts, project management tools, and notifications can seriously disrupt our ability to do productive, meaningful work. This isn't just inefficient in a practical sense, but it also drains our mental and emotional energy. Setting time to work uninterrupted is helpful for reaching desired goals and keeping one's sanity. This is deep work.
Talk with Real People
The workday isn't about merely accomplishing tasks and checking boxes; it also includes conversations and interactions with real people in person. We are humans, not machines, we are communal creatures, not gears. It is vital that we make time to enjoy the company of friends, meeting new people, and our peers during the week. Make time to talk with someone during your work breaks.
It's time we put aside our digital tools and make time for meaningful engagements.
There’s more to our work week than completing tasks. Come to the Austin Institute for fresh premium coffee, access to a large library of books, conversation, or a quiet space to ponder. The only requirement is that you put aside your laptops, phones, and other devices and be present to the moment.
