SUMMER SEMINARS

2019 SUMMER SEMINARS for
HIGH SCHOOL and UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS

Application Deadline: April 15, 2019

“An unforgettable experience that has truly deepened my love and curiosity for so many things.”
-summer seminar student, 2017
What to expect

Located on the campus of the University of Texas, the Austin Institute’s summer seminars introduce students to some of human life’s most formative questions: What is the good life? What does it mean to be a good person? What is the best way to pursue happiness? With the help of outstanding scholars and teachers, students from around the country and overseas explore different approaches to those questions, drawing from a broad range of great texts in philosophy and literature and applying their insights to contemporary society. Beyond the noise of contemporary politics and social media snark, students and faculty alike are challenged to think through problems rigorously and with openness.
