About The Event
In a time of deep political division, what does it take to remain friends — and seek truth — across ideological lines? This fall, the Good Life Reading Group will discuss Truth Matters: A Dialogue on Fruitful Disagreement in an Age of Division, an engaging exchange between Cornel West and Robert P. George that models intellectual humility, moral courage, and genuine goodwill amid profound disagreement. Together, we’ll reflect on the virtues needed for honest truth-seeking and truth-speaking in the public square, and how these same qualities can sustain cherished relationships even when convictions diverge.
The Good Life Reading Group is open to graduate students and professionals. Readings will be assigned prior to each meeting, which will take place on the second and fourth Mondays of the month, from September 8 to December 8.
