About The Event
About our speaker:
Alberto Martinez is a Professor of History at UT Austin. He has analyzed the roots of Einstein's special relativity theory since the 1990s. You can read more about him here.
About the Austin Institute Colloquia:
Each Colloquium takes place at the Austin Institute on the first Thursday of every month. We begin with a 20-minute introduction by a guest speaker — someone with deep interest and knowledge in the topic at hand. From there, we move into 30 minutes of open discussion, where participants and speaker alike are invited to think aloud, ask questions, and exchange ideas in a spirit of seriousness, curiosity, and mutual respect.
Afterward, all attendees are invited to continue the conversation over pizza and drinks in a relaxed, informal setting. It’s a chance to connect, unwind, and keep exploring big questions together.
Attendance is free, but space is limited. Advance registration is required.
