About The Event

In 2025, even activities like cold plunges and gym sessions have become addictive. In this engaging, upcoming reading group, The Good Life will read "The Dopamine Nation," by Anna Lembke, MD. Over the course of four meetings, our professionals and graduate students will learn more about pleasure, pain, and about the current, most common, and misguided way to deal with both. All of us run away from pain and seek pleasure: that's an instinct written in our human nature. The technological advances of our age, however, make it imperative for us to stop and think twice about our choices. The path to instant pleasure and the one to human flourishing could not be further apart.

The Good Life Book Club is open to graduate students and professionals. Readings will be assigned before each meeting, which will take place on the second and fourth Mondays of the month. Books will be provided. RSVP required.
