About The Event

Austin's young professionals ages 25 - 45 are gathering for intellectual and human enrichment at the Austin Institute!

The Good Life Book Club is the best place to make new friends and explore questions on human flourishing.

We read literature that speaks to the most profound human needs and deals with the most contemporary issues: such as religion, sex, and family life. We gather at the institute's beautiful backyard or lovely indoor spaces. A glass of wine will always be offered.

About the first 3 meetings:

“Magisterial…Humanist scholars in the Italian Renaissance were concerned with many of the same puzzles that obsess us today…Hankins shows that the humanists’ obsession with character explains their surprising indifference to particular forms of government. If rulers lacked authentic virtue, they believed, it did not matter what institutions framed their power.”―Wall Street Journal

About what comes next:

We will be reading more on topics such as.....
